Exciting new updates!

Happy to Chat in different language

We’ve got some great news to share with you this week. Our Happy to Chat initiative is picking up steam, and we couldn’t be more excited about the possibilities ahead.

Suffolk Libraries Joins the Conversation

We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that Suffolk Libraries is hopping on board with Happy to Chat! This partnership opens up incredible opportunities to connect with local communities in Suffolk. But that’s not all—brace yourselves for something even more exciting. We’re in the process of applying for funding to organise “Suffolk Libraries are Happy to Chat” events. Hopefully these will take place in the vibrant autumn season. Stay tuned for updates as we progress with this exciting venture!

Uxbridge BID Shows Interest

We’re delighted to share that Uxbridge Business Improvement District (BID) has shown keen interest in joining our Happy to Chat movement. We’re currently in discussions with them to explore the possibility of organizing monthly Happy to Chat sessions in the Pavilions—an exciting prospect indeed!

Picture a warm and welcoming space where locals and visitors alike can come together to share stories, laughter, and meaningful connections. It’s all about building a sense of community and fostering conversations that make a difference.

Brunel University Joins the Conversation

Following your feedback and suggestions, we’ve also sent our Happy to Chat proposal to Professor Andrew Jones, Brunel Vice Chancellor. Professor Jones agrees with us that Happy to Chat can help create a more welcoming and inclusive environment for not only Brunel staff but also students! We are currently planning an exciting initiative for September—a grand giveaway of Happy to Chat badges to all the new starters. We are designing new badges in different languages. In this way, international students can proudly wear the Happy to Chat badges in English, as well as in their native languages!

Imagine the impact these badges will have in sparking conversations, forging friendships, and creating a welcoming atmosphere on campus. We can’t wait to see these badges cheerfully displayed, igniting connections and making everyone feel a part of the same community.
